If you watched my TEDx talk then you might be interested to know that for the past nine years I have been working on a feature length documentary on depression and trauma, approaching the topic as a psychologist, and using my self as a case study. I refer to a wide range of personal issues, and the various approaches that I have applied on myself over a period of over 35 years. The film is now done and I’m in the process of sending it to film festivals. It’ll take some time to release it as the prestigious film festivals require exclusivity.
I’m also aiming to start creating videos where I expand on the various approaches I mention in the documentary. My hope is to create a resource for those who are struggling with depression. I’ll upload the videos to Youtube and also attach links on this website. I’m aiming to start on these early 2024. The first four years of my life were mainly in Brazil, then in Lebanon during the civil war. In 1985 I emigrated to Ireland and enrolled in Trinity College Dublin. In 1994 I graduated with three Masters in Psychology. As a counselling psychologist (therapist), I worked for four and a half years years in the area of sexual abuse; adults who have been abused in childhood, and adolescents who have abused younger children. Then I worked with refugees, most of whom have been tortured in their country of origin. My last official psychology position was working in nine different inner city Dublin schools - that was in the summer of 2003.
